Charitable Organization "Children of the Immaculate" Charitable Foundation"
We believe that one of the greatest values in a person's life is their own story.
Charitable Organization "Children of the Immaculate" Charitable Foundation" was created in 2020 as an initiative of community residents, volunteers, and parishioners united by the desire to preserve the architectural heritage of Horodenka.
We are engaged in the gradual restoration of the church and monastery cell complex in Horodenets - with respect for its historical value, architecture, and role in the life of the community.
In our work, we cooperate with all parties concerned with the heritage of this space — in particular, with the Horodenkiv City Council, the church community, and professional institutions that deal with issues of monument preservation.
Our role
We are the initiator and coordinator of the revitalization strategy for monastery cells in the city of Horodenka, as well as an active partner in the processes of preserving the entire church complex and courtyard.
We work with the city, cultural institutions, researchers, volunteers, and partners in Ukraine and abroad.

🛠️ What we do
🔹 Implemented initiatives:
- Clearing the church roof of weeds and improving the drainage system
- Elimination of the emergency condition of the roof of the cells (together with the city council and the Polonik Institute)
- Cleaning the interior and basements of the monastery
- Creation of a brand book, posters, souvenirs, content translations into English and Polish
- Website development pokuttia.com
- Organization of the concert "In the Anticipation of Christmas" in the church - a chamber performance by the Quattro Corde ensemble, which gathered a large audience of connoisseurs of baroque music
- Implementation of the project "On the Paths of Pokuttya: PINSEL.Return" in cooperation with the Horodenkiv City Council and the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation
📈 Results:
🔹 Immediate changes:
- The community gained full access to the church grounds and monastery cells for the first time — a part of the complex that had remained closed for decades became open.
- It became possible to conduct tours not only in the temple, but also throughout the territory - including the interior.
- The number of visits has increased: schoolchildren, children's camps, tourist groups
- Community awareness of the historical value of the site, the role of Pinzel's legacy, the architecture of the church, and the significance of the cells has increased significantly.
🔹 Long-term effect:
- The emergency interventions carried out stopped further destruction - this creates the prerequisites for restoration and future use.
- Public activism, openness, and events (such as the “In the Premonition of Christmas” concert) have transformed the complex from an abandoned landmark into a space that is returning to life.
- A stable communication platform has been formed: a website, a brand, information materials in Ukrainian, English and Polish — all this makes it possible to work with grants and partners
- Constructive cooperation has been established with the city council, the Cultural Center, the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation, the Polonik Institute, and the religious community.
- The foundation has been laid for the implementation of a large-scale revitalization strategy - with a clear vision, stages and management model
